TRANSPORT INDUSTRY – ROAD FREIGHT

Road freight transport was last reviewed in Issue 27 of the Business Values Newsletter in June 1995. This industry is seen as a barometer of general business activity in Australia as it essentially connects manufacturers, suppliers and retailers with their customers. In a generally tough economic environment, a major positive has been the lower fuel prices over the past few years, allowing many operators to hold onto reasonable levels of profitability.
